anti-folk, grease folk, punk
Kate Pike and the Loose Boots are a sweaty faced, toe tapping, ether screaming, body swaying , ear worm burrowing - good time.
Raised in the punk scene of Ktaqamkuk (Newfoundland) and now rooted on the West Coast, Kate blends rugged coastal honesty with a spark-plug stage presence that can make a crowd laugh, howl and cry all in the same 2 minutes. If you’ve seen them, you know - the Boots’ goal is to serve as a release valve: heart-shouting, silly and real.
Joined by bandmates John Prudhoe (spier) and Kaleb Clarke (Rabbitt Soup, Spier) the trio lives and creates on (amongst other places) the unceded land of the L’heidli T’enneh ( Cariboo Region, BC) and the Okanagan Region, BC - drawing grit and heart from the beauty of the land around them.
Finding moments of comfort in the chaos- you- beautiful and all fucked up- are enough.
Let’s Sing.
“I heard the next band is pretty good ”
— kid smoking cigarette outside show
“I thought the singer was supposed to be a girl” - - mouth breather playing pool
